| Problem | Causes | Solution |
| Water leaks directly from corners, seams, joints or at the end of a section of eavestrough. | Sealant has failed due to age, sun exposure and/or improper installation | Remove old sealant, burnish / prep area and replace with new gutter silicone. |
| Water spills over the top of eavestroughs during heavy rain. | Eavestroughs are clogged or filled with debris. Eavestroughs are improperly aligned preventing water from reaching the downpipe (drain). Downpipe is to small for volume of water coming off the roof during heavy rain. |
Clean eavestroughs on as needed basis. Realign / adjust eavestroughs to ensure proper flow of water to downpipe (drain). Install oversized downpipe to accommodate higher than average volume of water. |
| Water is coming from between the
eavestroughs and fascia ( the board behind the eavestrough)
during rain. Also light may be visible through a small gap between the back of eavestroughs and the fascia. |
Improperly maintained eavestroughs
have filled with debris and the resulting weight is causing
the eavestroughs to pull away from the house. Nails or screws used to affix the eavestroughs have let go allow the eavestroughs to pull away from the house. |
Hammer back in nails and/or rescrew the
screws used into new spot. Install additional hidden hangers (support brackets) in troublesome areas to prevent future issues. |
